The school badge

The school badge is written with the school’s name that is ‘Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Damansara Jaya’ and has a dark blue background. The school’s slogan is ‘Berilmu Untuk Berjasa’ meaning having knowledge to serve. The slogan is also written on the badge. The badge has symbols like the Crescent Moon and the Star, Torch, a Five Linked Rings, a Hibiscus Flower, the two wreaths and an open book.

Crescent Moon and Yellow Star
Represents Islam, as the official religion of Malaysia.

Torch and Open Book
Represents the source of all knowledge.

Hibiscus Flower Malaysia’s national flower. The flower symbolises a pure soul, while its five petals represent our country’s five principles.

Linked Rings
It represents sports and athletics, which are equally as important as knowledge. A healthy body is stressed, in almost every religion, and is necessary for the task of gaining knowledge.

Two Wreaths
The two wreaths complement the badge and further enhance its beauty and look.

Colours Of The Badge
Dark Blue
Dark blue is the background colour of the school badge and symbolises unity. The school is the best place to sow the seeds of unity among the many races and religions that make up Malaysia.

Red
Red, which is the colour of blood, symbolises the sprit of fighting to fulfill one’s dreams and ambitions. This also includes the fight to achieve our counntry’s aspirations and to uphold the pride of our school and country.

Yellow
Yellow is the royal colour of Malaysia, which is the focus of undivided loyalty.

White
White represents cleanliness and purity.

School Slogan
The school’s slogan is ‘Berilmu Untuk Berjasa’ which means gaining knowledge in order to do good to oneself, family, race, religion and country. The attainment of knowledge and high qualifications is to serve the country.
